Reddlipstick Profile: Avrey Smith

If the tall stature and freckled face of Avery Smith doesn't win the hearts of women all over, his various musical talents and humble personality should do the job. The fellas out there will more than likely respect his hustle, drive, and ambition. The mixture of all these traits makes for a great artist. I had the pleasure of talking to Avrey Smith this morning, about his upcoming music projects and appearance on 106 And Park as the Spotlight Artist this week. I could immediately tell that he was respectful, and about his business.

Avrey Smith is signed to Noviak Music, a label owned by Willie of Day 26. In the beginning, Willie's goal was to look for artist he could push and help, and met Avrey through his brother, who is Avrey's manager. After Willie debuted in the group Day26, he attended back to his artist and are continuing to help them reach their dreams.

Avrey describes his style of music as honest and "high energy", which is very well reflected in his single "Inked Up." Being a trained instrumentalist, he looks towards people as Jazz JJ Johnson, John Legend and Ryan Leslie as his inspirations. With his mother and father both singers, it was almost destined for Avrey to want to be in the music business.

The first episode of his web show "Inside Inked Up", which he says "gives fans an inside look at the shows and traveling and as him as a person" can be YouTube Channel: AverySmithMusic, and be on the lookout for episode two VERY soon.

What does Avrey do outside of the music business? Hangs out with family and friends, and stays active. Not to mention, COLLEGE. How does he juggle the two? "It's a task, but it's doable". He explains. "It's about the right motivation, and keeping things in perspective. I get the college experience, plus the heads-up on the business, something I always keep in perspective. It's very hard, but doable." Avrey also did a year of college basketball.

Make sure you check out Avrey on 106 And Park as the Spotlight Artist on Wednesday, July 27th! Avery performed on 106 And Park as the winner of Wild-Out Wednesday, which he notes as a "great experience and adrenaline rush", and performing for a 2nd time as a blessing.

A studio album is in the works, no name or title released yet, but he does have a mixtape , "No Apologies", which you can check out on his website HERE.

Avrey is an up and coming artist that definitely shines. To all other artists pursing the music business, he says "to continue to make good, quality music. This is the music industry, try to stand out in it."

XOXO!
