Spice Girls Reuniting?!

This wouldn't be a blog based on Bold Femininity if I didn't report that the Ultimate Girl Group based on Girl Power, the Spice Girls, is coming together to make a musical, "Viva Forever".

And I'd be lying if I said I didn't spend hours of my childhood dancing to their songs, playing with the Scary Spice Doll, and watching my "Spice World" movie on VHS.

Viva Forever, from what I'm hearing is supposed to be something of a musical very loosely based on the real life of the group. I'm excited. Even Ginger Spice is making her appearance again. This is the first time the whole group has been seen together since there 2007 World Tour.

This musical opens Dec. 11 in London's Piccadilly Theater. What they need to do is either A. Bring it on over to Broadway, or B. Make a live concert movie out of it. Something. Because I doubt that I will be in London in December to see it :(

Still it's nice to see all 5 girls together again. Excuse me while I find my Spice World tape.

A little blast from the past for you:

Being A Mass Communications Major is NOT easy.

One thing I hate is the downplaying of the difficulty of my major, Mass Communications. I know at the end of the day you aren't supposed to care about what people think, but I didn't spend all this time perfecting and learning more about my craft (and I DEFINITELY didn't spend all that tuition) for people to downplay it like it's one of those majors that people just use to get a degree.

During my matriculation at my university, I've heard of alot of people switch their majors from Biology Computer Science, and Business to Mass Communications, simply because "We don't do anything," and "It's so easy." Excuse me?

Where did you get this laughable ignorance?

"Mercy" Sample. What is he saying?

Whenever you're somewhere and you hear the beginning of "Mercy"[Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz] start, it's usually a bunch of people making their own nonsense words to the man yelling in the beginning. People really don't become audible until the beat drops

The man yelling in the beginning is Fuzzy Jones, the late dance-hall legend, who's audio was used at the beginning of Super Beagle's song "Dust a Soundboy"

He's saying:
Well it's a weeping and a mourning and a gnashing of teeth!
Well it's a weeping and a mourning and a gnashing of teeth!
When it comes to my sound, which is the champion sound. Believe.

And right before Kanye's Verse..
WELL—It is a weeping and a moaning and a gnashing of teeth in the dancehall—and who no have teeth gwine run pon them gums. Caw when time it comes to my sound, which is the champion sound, the bugle has blown so many times, and it still have one more time left, caw the amount of stripe weh deh pon our shoulder. Nah bother sound test we, and them can’t test we. COME Super Beagle and your girl!”

And there you have it.

REDD'S RUNWAY: AEHTELAYT

Now, for the past two features on the Runway of The Reddlipstick Blog, I've focused on brands that use simplicity to get their messages across. This weeks' brand uses a different approach.

Aehtelayt, which is the founder's [Tyalethea Boulware] first name backwards, is a line that focuses on uniqueness, eccentricity, and standing out.

From huge colored necklace to tye-dyed jean shorts, Aehtelayt is all about making BOLD fashion statements.

REDDLIPSTCK APPROVED: I love this line because it's all about standing out! The Reddlipstick Blog is a blog based on BOLD femininity, so we love the creativity and "in-your-face-ness" about Aehtelyat!
